Pizza Pilgrims arrived on the London food scene in the form of a Piaggio Ape van converted into a mobile kitchen in September 2011, after brothers James and Thom Elliot returned from 6-week pilgrimage through Italy on the hunt to discover the true art of pizza making.
The humble van brought slow proved Neapolitan pizza with the best of Italian ingredients to thousands of Londoners via a 1 tonne pizza oven. From humble beginnings on Berwick street market they now have multiple sites in London & Oxford.
All of their dough is made fresh daily and they source the best ingredients Italy has to offer in order to bring you and your guests the best possible pizza base going. As any Neapolitan will tell you – its all about the crust. They have recently launched their ‘Frying Pan Pizza in the Post’ DIY kits which are available nationwide, sparking homes across the UK to prepare Pizza Pilgrims signature Neapolitan pizza from two 48 hour proved dough balls, homemade tomato sauce, parmesan and fior de latte mozzarella plus extras with the most of humble of cooking tools: the frying pan and a grill.
